Our 3 Favorite Winter Skin Treatments

Your skin is the front-line defense against toxins and harsh environments which is why it is important to continually maintain healthy skin. Winter can be especially hard on the skin due to the cool, dry air outside and warm, dry air indoors. Caring for your skin during the winter takes just a little extra time and effort, yet it is critical during this time of year to be proactive. You do not need to accept dry skin in the winter as normal! We’re sharing Our 3 Favorite Winter Skin Treatments.

While there are several at-home ways to treat your skin in the cooler months, here are our three favorite winter skin Medspa treatments to consider that you can receive from a licensed professional.

Microneedling

This treatment relies on the body’s own self-healing mechanism. It uses tiny needles to puncture the top layer of skin in order to stimulate the production of collagen, a protein that plays a role in elasticity and strengthening of skin. Essentially, new, vibrant skin cells replace old, dull ones. With the increased collagen, microneedling is known to improve the overall look and feel of a person’s skin by reducing sunspots, stretch marks, large pores, and acne scars.

At Benehealth, we recommend pairing microneedling with serums such as Vitamin C, Stem Cells, Retin -A, or hyaluronic acid to take your skin to the next level.

Organic Hydradermabrasion Facials

The Benehealth Organic H2O Facial™ is amazing to help hydrate skin in order to combat dry, rough skin in the winter. Through hydradermabrasion techniques, the uppermost layer of skin is infiltrated with non-toxic hydrating products. Then, an ultrasound is used to penetrate regenerative serums, and oxygen is infused to promote healing. The H2O Facial helps to bring back a skin’s soft, supple, and glowing complexion.

Getting a hydradermabrasion is great anytime of the year but is especially helpful between the months of November and March. When the temperatures drop, our skin becomes drier due to the less moisture in the air. This means that a hydradermabrasion will be able to remove more dry, dead skin to reveal smoother, fresher, and glowing skin.

IPL

IPL stands for intense pulsed light. This is an extremely effective treatment for a variety of skin issues. This includes skin discoloration, uneven skin tone, sunspots, vascular lesions, and acne. During this treatment, an IPL device sends out more than one wavelength of pulsating light to targeted areas. Using this gentle light, energy heats the upper layers of your skin, stimulating your skin cells to regenerate new cells and tissues and improve collagen production for newer, fresher, and tightened skin.

After receiving an IPL treatment, it is recommended to limit your exposure to the sun for at least two weeks as your skin rejuvenates and heals. In the colder months, the sun is less prominent and out less. In the month of December, Arizona typically has around 7.9 hours of sunshine a day compared to June when it averages 13.6 hours a day making it easier to successfully complete the healing process.
